Because you asked…
Why aren’t your books on the shelf at my favourite bookstore?
Currently, my books are self-published which makes it cost ineffective for Canadian booksellers to sell my books in store.
You can special order, but independent sellers will not see much profit from the sale of my books.
The reason has to do with the cost of printing and shipping.
Currently, Amazon POD (Print on Demand) offers the most competitive pricing and shipping.
BTW: Amazon books are printed in/shipped from Alberta and Ontario for those of you interested in keeping some business aspects in Canada.
When did you launch your books?
While I have published three books, I still feel like I am in the learning phase of writing, which takes a tremendous amount of energy.
Launching a book is integral to marketing a book—this is an area I will be exploring…if you have any ideas, feel free to send them!
Do you have any suggestions for those of us wanting to help promote your books?
There are a number of ways to help any writer, especially a lesser known or self-published writer:
Ask your local library to add my books to their collection
Order my books
Write reviews on the seller’s website
Write reviews on Goodreads
If you enjoyed reading my books, tell others about my books
How many more books are you planning?
I will complete two more novels as part of my Alberta lost love stories.
Once these are complete, I will focus on Fitness is a Journey, the follow-up to Fitness is a Feeling.
Beyond…I have a list of ideas for future publications.
Why aren’t you on socials like Instagram or Facebook?
I may return to these platforms in the future, but I am committed to the discipline of writing. Perhaps when I am a more efficient writer, I will revisit integration of socials.
Are you open to doing workshops or book clubs?
I’m open to these possibilities…if you have an idea, let’s talk about it!
